New Mexico Security Guard Practice Exam 2026 - Free Security Guard License Practice Questions and Study Guide

The essential document a security guard must understand is post orders. Post orders provide detailed instructions about the specific duties and responsibilities of a security guard while they are assigned to a particular post or location. These orders outline the expectations for the guard's conduct, the protocols for monitoring the site, emergency procedures, and any other critical information that ensures the security and safety of the property and individuals involved.

Understanding post orders is crucial because they serve as the foundational guidelines for a security guard's role. They help ensure consistency in security measures and enable guards to respond effectively to various situations that may arise. While incident reports, daily logs, and emergency contact lists are also important documents in a security setting, post orders are the primary source of operational procedures and expectations that a guard must follow to maintain security and safety on site.
